Where the future of pharmaceutical manufacturing takes shape

In Traiskirchen, just 25 kilometres south of Vienna, the future of pharmaceutical manufacturing is taking shape.

At Tribus Logistics Park, Complex Pharmaceuticals is establishing a state-of-the-art production, packaging and logistics centre designed to meet the growing and continuously evolving needs of European healthcare systems. Covering a total area of 15,125 square metres, the facility will provide flexible capacity for pharmaceutical services, with the goal of bringing manufacturing expertise back to Europe and strengthening long-term supply security.

Flexible manufacturing meets digitalisation

Starting in 2027, the site will support pharmaceutical secondary manufacturing activities, particularly secondary packaging operations, as well as selected stages of drug manufacturing. Complex Pharmaceuticals is implementing a forward-looking operational concept: modular production lines provide maximum flexibility, while automated and digital processes ensure the highest levels of efficiency, transparency and quality. From the outset, facility layout, material flow and digital data flow have been carefully aligned. As a result, all production and quality control data are integrated within a centrally connected system, batch documentation is generated automatically, and regulatory compliance is ensured throughout the entire process.

A strong emphasis is placed on agility. Flexible, automated format changeovers enable economically viable production even for small and micro-batch sizes. This significantly reduces changeover times and allows new requirements to be implemented more quickly, creating a decisive advantage in a market increasingly shaped by rapid change and growing demand for customised solutions.

Optimised infrastructure for efficient supply chains

In addition to cutting-edge production and packaging facilities, the site offers extensive warehousing capacity, including a central ambient storage warehouse for contract manufacturing clients, with a capacity of approximately 11,000 to 12,000 pallet positions. The facility is further complemented by modern office space and high-performance infrastructure with excellent connectivity.

Sustainability as a guiding principle

Sustainability is not an add-on but an integral part of the overall concept. Photovoltaic systems, smart metering, EV charging stations, LED lighting, and intelligent heating and cooling technologies contribute to energy-efficient and resource-conscious operations. Through continuous monitoring, processes are optimised to reduce waste, improve operational efficiency and ensure predictable energy consumption. When it comes to packaging solutions, Complex Pharmaceuticals also prioritises sustainable materials and resource-efficient concepts tailored to the specific needs of its contract manufacturing partners.

Building a future-ready pharmaceutical hub

Through its investments in advanced technologies, sustainable infrastructure and skilled jobs, Complex Pharmaceuticals is gradually establishing Traiskirchen as a leading centre for pharmaceutical services in the heart of Europe.
The site reflects the company’s commitment to combining quality, innovation and sustainability across the entire value chain while making a lasting contribution to strengthening Austria’s pharmaceutical sector and economic competitiveness.
